I have been working as a vet nurse with the Kuranda and Mareeba vet surgery since 2008 and enjoying every minute, every day presents a new and exciting challenge.
Previously I have worked in the zoo industry as part of a team in the animal conditioning department, where I was involved in the training of various birds and animals for educational and interactive programs for children and visitors. Over the years I have developed a deep passion and keen interest in animal behaviour and enjoy investigating what causes our companions to act they way they do and search for what solutions are available to help our furry, feathered and scaly friends live happy healthy lives with us.
I am an active member of FNQ wildlife rescue organization involved in the rehabilitation of birds of prey, in particular the raptors (eagles, falcons, owls). Employing various conditioning techniques to exercise the birds to reach peak performance for release as the wild is a hard place to live and they need to be fit, strong and tough.
When I’m not working or rehabilitating wild birds I love to spend my time with my own companion, a retired show cockatoo, Charlie who loves to work on his vocabulary, fly around the house, investigate what surprises his toys hold and learning new behaviours.
I’ve grown up in Kuranda and have been working for the Kuranda Vet surgery since April 1995. Every year I have the wonderful opportunity to go away to conferences, workshops and seminars that give me the chance to learn so many new things.
I love being able to go to work each morning with such an enthusiastic and inspiring team. I enjoy every aspect of my job but get very excited over all animal nutrition, dentistry and wound management, large and small.
I have been working as a vet nurse for the Kuranda and Mareeba veterinary Services for 2 years and have a keen interest equine medicine as I have a horse of my own.
I have been working as a vet nurse at the Mareeba Vet Surgery for 5 ½ years and enjoy small animal surgery.
I’ve worked in the Kuranda and Mareeba Veterinary Surgery since 2005. I enjoy working with small animals, especially the friendly rottweilers and huskies, as these are the two dog breeds I have. My greatest joy is working with horses and their care. I have 2 sons who take up most of my free time fishing and playing cricket, otherwise I enjoy horse riding and reading

Have been a vet nurse with Kuranda vet services since 2011. Have really enjoyed working with such a crazy dedicated team, and the abundance of weird and wonderful cases our clients supply us with. My passion is the weird and the gross, coolest animal by far has been when I first started and was presented with a baby platypus. Favourite surgery is anything to do with pus. My Achilles heel is vomit. Just can't deal with vomit...
